The 3Tre Fis Ski World Cup on Canalone Miramonti

The legendary “White Circus” race has returned permanently to the great Canalone Miramonti and to the FIS World Cup program.
In January, the floodlights will shine once again on the Canalone Miramonti to host, at night, the 72nd edition of the men’s slalom race.

THE HISTORY
The Canalone Miramonti is a true skiing legend: designed in 1940 by Bruno Detassis, the “Lord of the Brenta”, mountaineer and first director of the ski school in Madonna di Campiglio.
A technical and demanding slope, marked by sharp changes in gradient, it hosted in 1967 the first World Cup race ever held in Italy.
Over the years, both World Cup and Europa Cup competitions have been staged here, as well as numerous editions of the 3Tre, the historic event created in 1948 that soon became a regular stop on the FIS World Cup calendar.

MAGLIA FULMINE (LIGHTING JERSEY)
Everyone once dreamed of wearing it. The Maglia Fulmine (Lightning Jersey) was the iconic symbol of the 3Tre and of the pioneering era of alpine skiing, awarded to the most complete skier, the one able to excel in the three traditional disciplines of the “White Circus”: slalom, giant slalom and downhill.
At the end of the 1950s, the winner of the 3Tre competition was awarded the Maglia Fulmine. To wear it meant being the very best. It was a yellow jersey, with red and blue details.
Today, Madonna di Campiglio, in collaboration with Falconeri, has brought the Maglia Fulmine back to life after more than 60 years. A unique garment that embodies Italian style and the joy of triumph. Another powerful motivation for the world’s top slalom skiers, ready to battle under the night lights of the Miramonti slope to write a new and fascinating chapter in the history of the 3Tre.

THE HONOUR ROLL
Many great athletes have raced down the famous Canalone Miramonti. Between victories and defeats, skiers from all nations have left their mark in Madonna di Campiglio.
