Doss: il tempio del tempo

Dove le Dolomiti raccontano la loro origine

Przejdź do stopki

At 2,100 metres above sea level, Doss del Sabion is home to a unique open-air theme park devoted to time, exploration and a slower pace of life.

This immersive trail brings together science, art and nature to tell the geological story of the Brenta Dolomites. It's an invitation to slow down, observe and learn all about the origins of the Earth.

The Refuge of Origins

Rifugio Doss del Sabion

Surrounded by the majestic stillness of the Dolomites, the Doss del Sabion refuge is the perfect starting and end point for your time travels. Enjoy breakfast with a view, gourmet lunches, snacks and afternoon treats in a space where taste meets tranquillity. Here, time truly slows down, surrounded by the silence of the mountains, with simple, authentic flavours.

Listen to the Dolomites breathe

The Island of Contemplation

A peaceful oasis where you can slow down and reconnect with the mountains. Artist Marco Nones’ installations – the Orogenesi loungers, Emozioni al Cubo platform and Nuvole Basse sculptural seats – are designed to stimulate the senses. Descriptive totems provide sensory guidance such as, “See where you are”, “Feel where you are” and “Breathe who you are”. It’s a mindful invitation to fully appreciate the Brenta Dolomites and Adamello.

Games, sculptures and stories

The Ammonite Game

A gentle stroll around the alpine lake is transformed into an imaginative learning experience. Seven fantastical ammonites – each carved and brought to life through storytelling – represent different geological eras and natural values. Every stop along the way includes an activity to complete in your trail booklet, including quizzes, riddles and observation games. This is a playful, immersive way to learn, reflect and reconnect with the natural world.

Create and let go

The Open-Air Atelier

The large Prà Rodont meadow is set to host a series of playful, creative activities blending art and nature. Children (and grown-ups!) can take part in “The Disappearing Drawing” by painting with water on stone: a simple yet symbolic act. Meanwhile, a new colour is added to a large communal canvas each day as part of the Cow Chooses the Colour project. These playful activities hone observation skills and encourage creative expression, helping participants connect with nature’s colours and textures.

A journey through time

The Immersive Belvedere Exhibition Space

The Belvedere Exhibition Space is a work in progress. In the coming months, it will be transformed into a fully immersive space where images and sound tell the story of the Dolomites. Visitors will be taken on an exciting journey through time, from the birth of the first oceans to the formation of the mountains. A glimpse into the past, coming to the Dolomites soon!
