READY FOR WINTER: IT’S SKI TIME AS ALWAYS IN THE SKIAREA CAMPIGLIO DOLOMITI DI BRENTA
From November 26th 2022 to April 16th 2023, lifts will be open in the largest ski area in Trentino
Winter is just around the corner and in the SkiArea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Val di Sole Val Rendena everything is ready for this season’s start. Even though the rising costs of energy and raw materials have created a period of uncertainty, the largest ski area in Trentino is getting ready to launch the upcoming winter season while guaranteeing the same quality, standards and services that it has always provided. After careful analysis, and well aware of the fact that winter tourism is the primary engine at both an economic and social level for mountain destinations, the Funivie Folgarida Marilleva spa, Funivie Madonna di Campiglio spa and Funivie Pinzolo spa lift companies have decided to get their ski lifts back up and running again to provide skiers with a normal winter season. On November 26th 2022 and up until April 16th 2023, lifts will remain open every day and the direct ski connection with Folgarida Marilleva and Pinzolo is scheduled to open on December 3rd 2022.
DYNAMIC PRICING: THE FIRST SKI AREA IN ITALY
To make things easier and simpler for clients, the SkiArea, which was the very first ski area in Italy to provide its clients with this option, has once again as it did last year, decided to implement dynamic pricing. The price of a daily or multi-day lift pass varies based on the period of the season, its use, and when it is actually purchased, making it similar to the way plane tickets are bought. If purchased in advance and online, ski pass rates are far more convenient with a discount of up to 20% when compared to the price of a lift pass purchased at the ticket office on the same day that it will be used.
These convenient rates also include “Pass Protection” insurance that will refund the cost of a ski pass purchased online due to any last minute cancellations that are caused by circumstances listed in the insurance policy, which also covers positive COVID-19 test results and mandatory self-quarantine.
STARPASS and ADVANCE SEASON LIFT PASS SALES
Starpass is the first Pay Per Use season lift pass and it is valid in all of the SkiArea’s ski resorts: Folgarida Marilleva, Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Pejo. Users can directly access the resorts and at the end of the day, the best rate will be applied. As soon as the first threshold has been reached, an 80% discount will automatically start to be applied each time a skier accesses the SkiArea. If a skier then reaches the second threshold, they’ll start to ski for free.

Advance sales have already started for the Superskirama and Folgarida Marilleva season passes: as of Thursday October 27th, winter season passes can be directly purchased on the SKI.it website. Information on special ski pass offers, like the December Free Ski deal, can also be found on the website.
WHAT’S NEW THIS WINTER
There are plenty of new features this winter in the SkiArea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, which has continued to invest in the resort’s slopes and facilities, to make sure that all of its guests enjoy an unforgettable experience. One of these includes the new Genziana slope in Madonna di Campiglio that has been widened along the final section of the slope. Skiers going towards the Folgarida Marilleva ski area are required to ski down this slope but it has always been rather steep and with a maximum 30 m width along the final section. Now that the slope has been restyled, it has a width of up to 70 m and the maximum slope gradient has gone from 50 to 30-35%, making it far more safe for the many skiers that use this slope to return to Folgarida Marilleva.
In the meantime, significant progress has been made to complete the new Val Mastellina water storage basin located near the arrival station of the Daolasa gondola lift in the Folgarida Marilleva area. This reservoir, which can be used to quickly produce snow for the entire Folgarida Marilleva ski area, is almost completed and as soon as it is ready it will be integrated with the area’s snowmaking equipment in order to produce snow even at the very start of the ski season. In addition to the construction of the reservoir, which has an approximate 180.000 m³ water capacity and receives water from diversions along the Meledrio and the Val Panciana streams, the top section of the Mastellina slope as well as the Rocce and Panoramica slopes have also been restyled. Surplus excavation material from the construction of the water basin has been reused to widen and restyle the Mastellina slope including the entire top section of the slope all the way to the area below the departure station of the three-seater Mastellina chairlift.
This project allows us to improve water resource management. The SkiArea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta is environmentally conscious and pursues the principles of sustainability. For us, water is a precious natural asset that needs to be protected and that must not be wasted. That’s exactly why we fill our water reservoirs during periods of heavy rainfalls by collecting water surplus which we “borrow” to cover our slopes with snow. Then at the end of the season, when the snow melts, it returns to the mountain ecosystem.
Pinzolo has also been optimizing the efficiency of its snowmaking system by replacing the snowmaking machines along the Tulot slope and others along the Brenta and Rododendro slopes.
Live terrain and slope status info, weather reports, ski conditions and snow reports are available on the SKI.it website.
