The lift opening, scheduled on February 17, has been cancelled due to the pandemic situation that has gotten worse in Trentino and therefore it has gone from being a yellow to an orange zone, which has of course eliminated all efforts that the lift companies have made to open the 2020/21 season.
On February 10th, after receiving the Provincial decree that authorized Lift Companies to open the slopes and lifts starting on Wednesday February 17th, preparation work begun to finally start the 2021 season, which immediately began to cause a stir among clients and all tourism providers.
Today, after receiving official news that Trentino has gone from being a yellow zone to an orange zone this, to say the least, has dampened everyone’s enthusiasm and it has forced the Lift Companies of the SkiArea to stop all prep work and to unfortunately have to declare the 2020/21 season over before ever being able to start.
This situation is of course very disappointing for us, but we must accept this decision with a sense of responsibility knowing that we have always placed the safety of our guests and staff before all other factors.
The Funivie Pinzolo lift company will continue to remain open for local Ski Clubs and for National athletes. On February 16th and 17th, the Italian National Team will be training on the Tulot slope for the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Cortina. If the current health situation should improve, Funivie Pinzolo will evaluate the possibility of also opening for amateur skiers.
As far as Funivie Madonna di Campiglio and Funivie Folgarida Marilleva lift companies are concerned, all skiers will have to wait until the 2021/22 season to enjoy the slopes of these ski areas, in the hopes that this health emergency will have been resolved.
